Ernest (Bill) Sollitt married twice. Firstly to Barbara Sollitt (Wheatly) of Harrogate - Nth Yorkshire .  She was a RN in the armed forces during the war years.  It is believed her father was a doctor and the Chief Public Health Officer for North Yorkshire! Then living in Harrogate .  They had a son - Peter Sollitt, their only child.  At this time Ernest & Barbara lived in Harhills area of Leeds 8, later moving to Headingly area, the home-base of the ‘Yorkshire Cricket’ ground.  Later, he married his secretary at the University in Leeds -  Rosemary Sollitt (Hepplewhite), again of Harrogate - Nth Yorkshire - England . They had three children (that I know of)!  Being named Patrick Sollitt,  Ian Sollitt and sister Joanne Sollitt - All living in Headingly - Leeds .  (Bill) Sollitt was a keen amateur radio enthusiast, a member of the Leeds Amateur radio society. Also keen on photography and angling (Fishing).  It was from Bill that I, the webmaster, learnt the gentle art of angling - and much more.  Bill was a great learner and teacher, he was always keen to pass on his knowledge to others.  I remember him fondly!.   Ernest (Bill) Sollitt - In his later years entered hospital on a number of occasions with chest and lung problems, he was a heavy smoker! (possibly a fashion retained from the war years!).  Sadly he died on March 2nd at the age of 69 years, in the Leeds General Infirmary - Gt George Street - Leeds2.   He was cremated and lays at rest in Lawnswood Cemetery - Lawnswood - Leeds 16.
